Wow, you people are nuts! People are calling in talking about civil war, violence, secession? The idea that President Obama or Mitt Romney would physically hurt people is just silly and ridiculous. I can’t believe people seriously believe that nonsense. Come back to reality. Leave the crazy talk to George Nouri and Coast to Coast.
Chris, I wrote you a couple of days ago about the way Germany took care of the needy post WW2. I need to add something. A food box was included daily to the workers with rice, beans, salt, coffee, canned milk,a soap bar, flour, oil,a cheese wedge,a bag of potatoes.
Chris I have a friend from Germany who was telling me how Germany handled welfare needs post WW 2. They set up work for help truck stations all over a city & able bodied people with needs came, registered & lined up. They had to have picture id & were given attendance booklets to be signed. They were assigned work details/jobs-some at businesses to help for the day-sweeping, cleaning windows, some sweeping the courthouse or sidewalks, weeding the courthouse lawn. If they did the job,or if they were in line & the jobs ran out- they received vouchers for their needs groceries, medical, fuel etc.,if they refused, they got nothing. Everyone had to put forth some effort for what they received. Many eventually got a job.Seems like we could implement a similar program here & eliminate some fraud. Sincerely, Meredith Brown
Chris I believe the republican party just wants a power grab on the senate seat in Minnesota. this guy is pro life to the point that a fetus is a human person. Who should have a voice or sayso. let me ask you this ” has medical science proved beyond a doubt that the female body does not have a defense against rape trama?
The idea of allowing illegals to use an ID card for the Mexican consulate to register their car is not a bad idea. Once entered into the computer, any time an officer runs a check on the license plate, it will show up as owned by an illegal. So, illegals will be driving around with a big red X on their cars saying I’m an illegal.
I use to sell motorcycles and I actually met you when I was in a sales position in South West Houston. You hosted a Wednesday night sports show at the Hooters off I-59. Now I am working at a prison in South Texas.
One thing I remember is on one occasion we chatted and you and I both made a commitment to buy a service man or women a beer if we ever saw them in uniform. To this day I still do that and sometimes will pay for their meal.
The way I see it we, as an American’s can never do enough for these brave men and women in uniform and serving this great country of ours.
Take care and God Bless. Oh yea I still use a phrase you once stated on the air. When someone does something wrong and will owe up to it I use one of your favorite lines, I just tell them “To Butch Up”.
Hi Chris,
Heard your show today. It was a very interesting topic but I didn’t have a chance to call in (I work nights). What I want to say is that if you look at other parts of the world, such as Europe and Japan, their crime rates and murder rates are much, much lower than ours. Is that because they’re more religious than us? I don’t think so. I think what’s different has to do with their cultures. One, they emphasize the group over the individual. Their cultures reflect that a person is not “special” or entitled just because they were born. Second, their parenting styles are better at teaching kids how to self-regulate their emotions and their thoughts. I think religion does those two things well so that’s why it succeeds. I wish it was mandatory in public schools to teach some form of emotion regulation (i.e. cognitive therapy). Give kids the tools to learn how to self-manage their emotions and their thoughts. You alluded to video games being a problem. I don’t think it is. Just because a lot of the shooters were into video games doesn’t mean that’s what caused them to snap. Blaming video games is like saying all the shooters enjoy watching sports so that must be the problem. It just so happens that watching sports is a very popular activity. A lot of people watch sports (or play video games) yet they don’t buy a guy and start shooting people. I would contend that video games have been around since the dawn of time. You know what video games were called back in the day? Cops and robbers. Cowboys and Indians. If you tried to explain to someone what those games were about, you could see how it would appear to the uninitiated: “Well you see, every day me and Bobby go out in the back yard. Bobby pretends that he’s robbing a bank and I imagine that I’m shooting Bobby in the chest with my imaginary gun.” Video games, like pretending to be a robber, are simply make believe. It’s not the games themselves, it’s people that isolate themselves socially and get carried away with their thoughts that pose the problem.
I was watching TV Sunday morning then suddenly you appeared. That was sort of ugly what they did…used your name as an audience draw then would not let you speak. I could not believe how well you handled the situation…it was abundantly clear they did not want you there.
Keep up the good work on KSEV I really enjoy your show, in fact for several years although I’ve had to change stations to follow.

Chris,
Can you ask Cheryl if there is anything Rick Perry can do to stop this?
Thanks.
RAndy.
