(Washington, DC) — The number of job openings fell slightly in August. The Labor Department says seven-point-one million jobs were available which is fewer than expected. The number and rate of hires was little changed at five-point-two million for the month. According to the JOLTS report, the number of total separations including quits and layoffs were unchanged. Healthcare and social services led the way with the most job postings in August.
