(Nashville, TN) — Lawyers for Christa Pike say she is now back in prison in Tennesse after being released from the hospital following a botched lethal injection last month. Pike has been transferred to the Deborah K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, where she had been held before her planned execution on September 30th. Her attorneys said Saturday she is continuing to receive medical care. Pike survived after being given two doses of a lethal injection drug at the prison. Her legal team also renewed their calls for Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to commute Pike’s death sentence, pushing him to change the sentence to life in prison without parole.
