September Jobs Report Below Expectations

SHARE X Facebook

(WASHINGTON) The September jobs report came in below expectations, with employers adding 29,000 jobs—down from 162,000 in August and short of the roughly 84,000 economists had forecast. The unemployment rate edged up slightly, from 4.1% to 4.2%. The numbers point to a cooling labor market, giving the Trump administration and Republicans a fresh opening to argue that the economy needs policies focused on stronger growth and job creation.
