(Los Angeles, CA) — More women are being prescribed GLP-1 weightloss medications like Ozempic after giving birth. A new study finds GLP-1 use among new mothers saw an increase of 24-fold in 2025. Researchers looked at insurance claims covering over one million births over seven years. The study’s results say the weightloss medications now account for about 40-percent of new postpartum prescriptions.
