(SRN NEWS)-Officials in Ottumwa allow people of all faiths to offer the invocation at city council meetings and earlier this month a member of the Satanic Temple did so, concluding his prayer with the words “hail Satan”. Some of the council members looked visibly uncomfortable and public outrage followed swiftly. Mayor Benjamin Foote says he and the lawmakers are reviewing the rules covering invocations. The Satan worshipper is due to offer another prayer before the council in November.
