(SRN NEWS)-According to the state’s Department of Public Health, only three abortions were carried out in 2025. Alabama allows abortion only in cases where the mother’s life is at risk or the unborn child suffers from “lethal abnormalities.” However, the department also reports that more than 1800 women traveled outside of Alabama for the purpose of obtaining an abortion. About half the states ban abortion while the other half welcomes it.
