Oct 12 (Field Level Media) – The Tampa Bay Rays made one change to their American League Championship Series on Monday by dropping left-hander Garrett Cleavinger.

The Rays will stick with the same 12-pitcher staff they had during the AL Division Series and add rookie right-hander Brody Hopkins.

Tampa Bay will play host to Game 1 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday.

Cleavinger, 32, went 4-4 with a 4.79 ERA in 51 relief appearances during the regular season but did not pitch in the ALDS against the New York Yankees when the Rays advanced in a three-game sweep.

Hopkins, 24, made his major league debut Sept. 13 and had a 5.06 ERA in six games down the stretch.

The Rays’ ALCS roster:

Catchers: Liam Hicks, Nick Fortes

Infielders: Jonathan Aranda, Richie Palacios, Taylor Walls, Junior Caminero, Ben Williamson, Jorge Mateo

Outfielders: Chandler Simpson, Cedric Mullins, Victor Mesa Jr., Jonny DeLuca, Ryan Vilade
